Wild Swimming – the best way to cool down!

Phew, it’s been hot!

As much as I love the mini heat wave that has hit the UK this week, it is less fun when you are sat in an office 9-5! Come to the end of the day I can’t say I particularly fancy running or cycling when it is this humid and facing the midges climbing also lacks appeal. What I want to do is just straight into an ice cold pool – ideally overlooked by a fantastic view…

So that is exactly what I did! Slippery Stones at Ladybower Reservoir is one of my favourite venues for wild swimming. Not only is is really accessible, but the walk (or cycle) to it always also gives some stunning views at this time of year in the evenings. The pool is just about deep enough to jump in – but make sure you check for yourself first – and it is always nice and cold!
