I love skiing – it has to be one of my favourite ways to spend a week! Having just come back from an excellent week in Tignes I thought I would share a few photos and highlights of the week:
My favourite route of the week:
It snowed about 50cm the day we arrived, which meant we had lots of fresh powder to play on. We found this bowl on day 2; it just had so many lovely lines, nothing to hard just perfect!
The Needle:
A cool lunch spot on day three. There were moments I thought about eating a bit lower down as I was super hungry – some definite hanger issue, but it was worth it in the end. This is me gracefully scaling The Needle – it turns out hired ski boots are not the best for climbing in!
On route to some off piste:
Fall of the week:
Picking up speed to get back up on piste I was going as fast as I could to avoid lugging my skis up the slope – this backfired in a big way! Somehow I didn’t spot a big block of ice… I hit this at full speed my ski’s stopped, and I went flying – ouch! Luckily this special moment was missed by the camera so here is another wipe-out.
One of the lifts had a photo booth which predicted what you would look like as a baby. I would like to report this broken! I do not look like my predicted baby photo. For your information, I was much cuter ha.
As it always happens with skiing as soon as I have come back, I can’t wait to get back out again. I think for my next ski holiday I want to look into learning more about backcountry and ski mountaineering, with the view of travelling from place to place each day as oppose to staying in one resort.
Here are some more shot from the week:
